Given Pop Up’s focus on H&S we found the HSE presentation particularly sobering and enlightening.
Last year the member organisations of the Access Industry Forum (AIF) simply took an exhibition stand, but this year they are back with an 8-presentation, full day seminar on Day 1 in Spotlight Theatre 2 covering all aspects of working at height, with a particular emphasis on the latest developments in standards and safety, plus an update from the HSE on working at height.
The principal forum for all the leading trade associations and federations involved in temporary and permanent work at height, the AIF has assembled an impressive line-up of speakers committed to advancing and sharing best practice in this specialist sector.
Dedicated to driving the safety agenda forward, the free seminar will include sessions from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), the Association of Technical Lightning & Access Specialists (ATLAS), the Edge Protection Federation (EPF), Fall Arrest Safety Equipment Training (FASET), the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), the Ladder Association (LA), the National Access & Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) and PASMA – the organisation representing the mobile access tower industry.
The topics covered will range from the latest guidance in scaffolding, an examination of the continuing role and relevance of ladders and stepladders in the workplace, to the results of a major review into fall protection guidance for mobile access towers and an HSE update on the current trends across different industry sectors. For details of the complete programme, including speaker profiles, please visit www.ioshconference.co.uk
Furthermore all participating members of the AIF will be available for audience questions from 12.30 – 1pm in Spotlight Theatre 2 to answer any particular working at height challenges. For those unable to attend the seminar, representatives of the Forum will be available on stand F95 throughout the event.
